WISE & CARE FAQs
Beginning with the 2026-2027 Academic Year, WISE courses (WISE Surgery, WISE On Call) & CARE will no longer be offered through Aquifer.
In an ever-changing marketplace, we mutually determined that this step was best to meet the evolving demands of our shared customers. We are grateful for our longstanding partnership and proud of the work that we have accomplished together over the past 20 years.

What happens to student access to WISE & CARE after June 30, 2026?
Access to CARE and WISE-Surgery/WISE-OnCall through the Aquifer platform will end on June 30, 2026.
Beginning July 1, 2026, WISE modules will be managed directly by the WISE team at NYU Langone through a separate platform. Programs or educators with questions regarding continued access should contact the WISE team directly at wise@nyulangone.org.
The CARE course will be retired effective July 1, 2026, and will no longer be available after June 30, 2026.

Will students need to create new accounts with WISE?
Students will not need to create accounts independently. The WISE team will coordinate account creation directly with participating programs.
Questions regarding account setup or onboarding should be directed to wise@nyulangone.org.

Will student progress/data transfer to WISE?
Students actively participating in a rotation at the time of transition will continue to have access to WISE-Surgery and WISE-OnCall with their current progress maintained.
Questions regarding historical data, prior rotations, or specific learner records should be directed to the WISE team at wise@nyulangone.org.

Should students download/save anything before access ends?
Students using CARE or who have completed their rotations and would like to retain personal records of their progress should download any desired progress reports prior to June 30, 2026.

Will faculty retain access to historical WISE/CARE data in Aquifer after June 30?
WISE and CARE data are not stored within Aquifer systems. Questions regarding historical learner or institutional data should be directed to the WISE team.

Who is responsible for supporting historical data requests?
The WISE team at NYU Langone is responsible for handling historical data requests related to WISE-Surgery and WISE-OnCall.

At this time, no formal deadline has been communicated. Programs interested in continued access are encouraged to contact the WISE team directly.
