Product Manager
Aimee Landwehr joined Aquifer in November 2022. Aimee works closely with various stakeholders to communicate the product vision, requirements, present business impacts, and prioritize and manage bugs.
Prior to joining Aquifer, Aimee was a high school social studies teacher. In that role, she worked to ensure curriculum alignment, designed and implemented standards-based assessments, and created instructional interventions to meet a wide array of student needs. Aimee earned a Bachelor’s degree in history and a Master’s degree in security studies from Kansas State University, as well as teaching credentials from Emporia State University.
Aimee lives in Kansas where she enjoys spending time with her husband and young adult children, doing yoga, reading, writing, and working in the garden.
Anthony Wilson, MFA
Managing Editor, Curriculum
Anthony Wilson joined Aquifer in November 2019. He is involved with all aspects of Aquifer’s assessment and content maintenance processes, and also works on the conceptualization, development, and implementation of new content and assessments. Previous to Aquifer, Anthony worked in assessment development, health policy media, and college athletics.
He has a Bachelor of Arts in Communications/Journalism from the State University of New York at Cortland and a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing from American University. He and his wife, Jessica, live in Vermont, after living the better part of the past two decades in Washington, D.C.
Daniel Sardella
Assessment Production Associate & Support Coordinator
Dan joined Aquifer in August 2021. He assists with the development, maintenance, scheduling, testing, delivery, and tracking of exams and assessments.
Dan’s background includes positions as a Product Management Coordinator for an IT solutions provider, an Implementation Specialist for a cloud-based staffing platform, and a Technical Support Coordinator for a flooring coop. Excellent customer service has always been at the forefront of his career. He attended Keene State College, Fitchburg State College, and holds an Associate Degree in Audio Production from Massachusetts Communications College.
Dan lives in New Hampshire, is passionate about film and music, and regularly hikes and mountain bikes. He also loves playing and recording music, traveling, performs freelance work for a home video label, co-hosted a podcast for many years, and has acted in a play or two.
Daniel Statter, MS
Manager, Account & Sales Success
Daniel Statter joined Aquifer in October of 2023. He is responsible for leading the sales and account management team, carrying sales targets for key accounts, and sales forecasting.
Prior to joining Aquifer, Dan managed sales and key accounts for growth-stage software companies in the higher education industry. He has also worked on-campus in academic affairs and in student affairs. Dan received his BS from Marquette University and his MS from the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Education.
Dan lives in Rhode Island with his fiance, Emily, and poodle, Duffy, and enjoys spending time with friends, learning about general aviation, and exploring the outdoors as much as possible.
Jacqueline (Hembrook) Short, MA, MS, PhD
Senior Curriculum Specialist
Jacqueline (Jackie) Short, joined Aquifer in August 2017. Currently, she assists in the oversight of the Aquifer Sciences. Her main role is as Project Manager for Aquifer Sciences; an initiative in collaboration with IAMSE to integrate basic sciences into the health care professional’s academic curriculum.
She has a background in behavioral neuroscience and psychology, along with conducting empirical laboratory research during her studies – related to learning and memory systems and visual attention. Her research has been published in several scientific journals. She also has taught psychology courses (Introduction to Psychology, Statistics, Biopsychology) at the University of New Hampshire and Castleton College.
Jackie received her Bachelors of Science in Psychology from Western New England University; a Masters of Arts in Psychology, Masters of Science in College Teaching and a PhD in Behavioral Neuroscience, all from the University of New Hampshire. She then completed a six year postdoctoral fellowship at the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth in the Molecular and Systems Biology department (formally Physiology and Neurobiology).
She lives in New Hampshire with her husband, who actively serves in the Army National Guard, and two young sons who keep them both on their toes. She enjoys working on crossword puzzles, ice skating and taking walks with her family.
Jeanine Gaitan, MS, M.Ed
Assessment Specialist
Jeanine Gaitan joined Aquifer in July of 2023. She is responsible for assisting with the development, maintenance, scheduling, testing, delivery, and tracking of exams and assessments.
Jeanine’s background includes 16 years as a physics teacher, a question review for the ACT, subject matter expert for various universities, and working on projects for the Texas Board of Education. Jeanine attended the University of Texas graduating with a degree in Biology and later on, a master’s degree in education. She later attended Texas A&M and earned her master’s degree in Physics.
Jeanine lives in Texas and enjoys attending concerts, traveling with her family, reading, and working on puzzles.
Jessica Baker, MPH, CPH
Consortium Operations Specialist
Jessica joined Aquifer in June 2025 as the Consortium Operations Specialist. In this role, she supports the day-to-day operations of Aquifer’s Consortium, a network of over 200 health professions educators who contribute as content experts and curriculum developers. Reporting to the Manager of Consortium and Partnership Operations, Jessica plays a key role in coordinating consortium activities, supporting curriculum development processes, and ensuring a seamless and positive experience for volunteer educators.
Prior to joining Aquifer, Jessica worked in public health program coordination, community outreach, and event logistics at the local government level and within nonprofit organizations. She has a background in public health, healthcare and education, with experience leading community needs assessments, managing collaborative initiatives, and supporting data-driven projects focused on health equity. Jessica holds a Master of Public Health (MPH) in Social and Behavioral Sciences and a Bachelor of Applied Health Sciences in Health Administration from Indiana University. She is based in Indiana.
Joseph Miller, Ph.D.
Manager, Pedagogy and Learning
Joe Miller joined Aquifer in November 2020. Joe brings his expertise in pedagogy and learning, curriculum design, and data-focused product insights to health professions education while driving the execution and growth of Aquifer’s AI-powered learning strategy. He will partner closely with leadership to ensure that our initiatives continue to uphold Aquifer’s highly trusted brand standards.
Joe has spent most of the last two decades working in K-12 education supporting schools and teachers to improve outcomes and incubate innovative ideas.
Joe earned a Ph.D. in anthropology from Southern Methodist University (2002) and taught graduate and undergraduate courses in the Department of Anthropology at the University of Colorado-Denver.
Joe lives in New Hampshire with his wife, two children, and far too many pets. In his free time, Joe is a volunteer fireman, avid runner, and obsessive about making the perfect pizza.
JW Jones
Account Manager
JW joined Aquifer in September 2025. In this role, He is responsible for maintaining consultative relationships with existing clients, identifying and developing relationships with new clients, and helping support the continued growth and success of accounts at Aquifer.
Prior to joining Aquifer, JW worked in K-12 and higher education enviornments, and has experience in healthcare and hospital environments. He has worked side-by-side with clinicians that service some of our most underserved populations in children’s hospitals, mental health facilities, and dentention centers.
JW attended Johnson and Wales University, where he received a BS in Sports Entertainment/Event Management, and also holds an MBA and Graduate degree in Education. He lives in South Florida with his family and pets, and enjoys fishing, swimming, long bike rides, and testing out recipes with his daughters.
Karey Waters
Product Manager
Karey Waters joined Aquifer in November 2017. She manages all aspects of Aquifer’s strategic communications and marketing. Her role also includes gathering and analyzing user feedback to inform product development and messaging. Prior to joining Aquifer, Karey worked for 12 years in non-profit communications and event management. Her background includes website and graphic design, content development and writing, and marketing strategy. She has a Bachelor of Arts from the University of New Hampshire.
Karey lives in Vermont with her husband, daughter, horses, and german shepherds. She enjoys skiing, paddling, and exploring the outdoors with her family.
Katie Hamon, MSEd, MA
Katie Hamon joined Aquifer in January of 2025. She is responsible for representing Aquifer’s products, brand, and mission to the world. From managing the website and outreach campaigns to collaborating on customer training to ensuring customer and market insights are deeply integrated across team strategies, she will coordinate cross-functional team efforts to drive innovation and the Aquifer brand.
Katie has a background in educational technology and strategic communications, most recently serving as Senior Program Manager at CK-12 Foundation where she built and engaged educational communities and developed comprehensive professional development programs reaching educators across 60+ countries. Her educational experience extends to the years she taught at Landmark High School, teaching students with language-based learning disabilities and working to support educators through the Landmark Outreach Program, as well as her current work serving as Chair of the Board of Trustees of MC2 Charter School. She received her BA in Mathematics at Dartmouth College, her MA in Mild to Moderate Disabilities at Simmons College, and her MSEd at Stanford University Graduate School of Education.
Mallory Farnsworth
HR/Business Administration Specialist
Mallory joined Aquifer in April of 2023. She is responsible for providing customer and subscription support as well as administrative support throughout the customer success department.
Mallory has been an administrative support specialist for the entirety of her career, with nine years of experience in various leadership roles. She has a strong foundation in healthcare and is dedicated to providing optimal customer/patient care.
She lives in New Hampshire, where she enjoys hiking with her family and indulging in a good book.
Mary Albert
Mary joined Aquifer in May 2014 as an independent contractor. She became an Aquifer employee in July 2016. Mary manages day to day accounting functions which include accounts payable, accounts receivable, subscription invoicing, account reconciliations, monthly closing, and reports. She came to Aquifer with more than twenty years of accounting experience. She worked in corporate, public accounting, and nonprofit accounting.
Mary received her Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Castleton University in 1989. She lives in Vermont with her husband and rescue dog. She enjoys hiking and being outdoors. She is an avid hockey fan and roots for the Pittsburgh Penguins.
Marketing Automations and Media Specialist
Matt joined Aquifer in February 2021. As the Marketing Automations and Media Specialist, he is responsible for orchestrating and optimizing automated marketing campaigns and producing marketing media assets that drive engagement, nurture leads, and enhance customer experiences. Before joining Aquifer, Matt was an instructor and program coordinator at the Nashville Film Institute. Previously, he was a Graduate Teaching Fellow at UCLA, as well as an adjunct professor of Communications at CSU-Dominguez Hills. He holds a B.A. in Communication Arts and French from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, and an M.A. and C. Phil in Cinema and Media Studies from the University of California, Los Angeles.
Originally from Hanover, NH, Matt lives in Nashville, TN, with his wife and two dogs. He enjoys kayaking, hiking, and traveling with his family. In his spare time, he is working on producing his first documentary film. He is also a podcast producer and host, and the editor-in-chief of an online college football magazine.
Megan Hotaling
Manager, Consortium Operations and National Partnerships
Megan joined Aquifer in November 2020. She oversees Aquifer’s network of 200+ health professions volunteer educators who serve as content experts for our learning platform. Reporting to the Chief Learning Officer (CLO), this position supports all aspects of Aquifer’s strategic relationships and curricular alignment with national health professions organizational partners. Supported by the Consortium Operations Specialist, the Manager, Consortium and Partnership Operations ensures Aquifer’s Consortium volunteers remain engaged and productive, and receive an excellent volunteer experience.
Previously, Megan spent over a decade working at a small private liberal arts institution in student engagement. She has a background in higher education and student affairs, particularly in the area of event planning. Megan received a Master of Arts degree in Higher Education and Student Affairs from the University of Connecticut and a degree in English and Communication Students from SUNY Oneonta. Megan resides in New Hampshire.
Mimi Otten
Adoption & Use Lead
Mimi Otten joined Aquifer in October of 2023. She is responsible for the implementation and facilitation of a comprehensive adoption strategy to ensure the successful utilization of Aquifer’s end services. She will design and deliver training to support subscribing educators to leverage the features, functionalities, and benefits of Aquifer’s products and services.
Mimi has a background in supporting courseware development with the FAA and Washington Headquarters Services. Mimi collaborated with faculty at Spalding University to develop the Doctoral Nursing Practice and Executive Leadership EdD online programs. She worked with university leadership to expand the university’s online presence for both undergraduate and graduate programs. She received her BA at the University of Dayton and her MSLS at the Clarion University of Pennsylvania.
Mimi lives in Kentucky, and she and her husband, Bill, enjoy taking advantage of the ample hiking and biking opportunities throughout the Bluegrass state.
Nicholas D. Jones, M.S.
Technical Lead
Nick joined Aquifer in March of 2021 as a Full Stack Developer. His work focuses on building, integrating, and maintaining the digital platforms that power Aquifer’s learning and assessment tools.
Before joining Aquifer, Nick served as a Software Architect at Noteflight, where he helped lead modernization efforts across the company’s collaborative music composition platform. He played a key role in developing real-time editing capabilities and worked across the full stack—from backend systems and deployment pipelines to frontend experiences.
Nick holds both a Master’s and Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from the University of Vermont, where he also served as a Graduate Teaching Fellow.
A lifelong Vermonter, Nick lives in Sharon, where he enjoys spending time outdoors with his two children and applying the same curiosity that drives his development work to his hobbies and personal projects.
Nicholas Sammartino
Curriculum Specialist
Nick joined Aquifer in September 2020. As Production Associate for Internal Medicine, Diagnostic Excellence, and High Value Care, he will manage the editorial review cycle of all Internal Medicine, Diagnostic Excellence, and High Value Care cases. Working closely with the editorial boards, he will update, edit, and enhance online curricular content in Aqueduct, the teaching and learning platform.
Prior to joining Aquifer, Nick worked in administration for higher education at Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College, and as an automotive technician prior to that. Nick is currently finishing his master’s degree at Dartmouth College, focusing his research on public health and drug policy reform. He also served as the lead digital editor for his program’s academic journal, where he participates in the academic peer review process, while also responsible for creating, managing, and publishing both the digital and print edition of the journal. As a musician and music enthusiast, Nick spends much of his free time playing, writing, and recording music, building HiFi and home theater systems, and listening to music. Residing in West Lebanon, New Hampshire, he also enjoys taking advantage of all the nearby trails in the Upper Valley, going for hikes and mountain biking as often as he can.
Priti Patil
Technical Lead
Priti Patil joined Aquifer in December 2019 as a full stack developer. She contributes towards the development and maintenance of the Aqueduct teaching and learning platform. Prior to joining Aquifer, Priti worked as a Software Developer for 2 years.
She has a BTech in Computer Science and Technology from SNDT University in India.
She lives in Massachusetts and likes to read books and spend time with her family and friends.
Shawn Griffin, MBA, PMP
Manager, Product Engineering
Shawn joined Aquifer in August of 2018. His primary focus is the planning, budgeting, and deliveries of projects within Aqueduct. Shawn comes to Aquifer after spending 14 years at TomTom, a global leader in location technology and consumer electronics. His educational background includes a BA from the University of Vermont, MBA from Franklin Pierce University and a Project Management Certificate (PMP) from the Project Management Institute. Shawn lives across the river in Vermont and spends his free time, hiking, biking, and snowboarding the trails of the Green Mountain State.
Tomas Peñate
Account Manager & Sales Specialist
TJ Peñate joined Aquifer in December of 2023. He is responsible for maintaining consultative relationships with existing clients, identifying and developing relationships with new clients, and helping support the continued growth and success of accounts at Aquifer.
TJ has a background in strategic communications and sales with extensive SaaS experience. He’s worked with professionals in almost every industry and excels in cooperative communication and education. He received his BA in Psychology at the University of New Mexico.
TJ lives in Indiana, and enjoys writing and producing music, drawing and painting, and spending time with his wife.
Will Kent
Technical Lead
Will joined Aquifer in April 2017. He primarily works on building new features for Aquifer’s teaching and learning platform. He also does maintenance and bug fixes for the codebase. Will received a bachelor’s degree in economics from Northeastern University in 2013 and went back to school for programming and computer science in 2015. He lives on a farm in northern Vermont with his wife.
Xantippe VanArsdale, MLIS
Senior Curriculum Specialist
Xan joined Aquifer in May 2020, as Production Associate for Family Medicine and Geriatrics she will manage the editorial review cycle of all Family Medicine and Geriatrics cases. Working closely with the editorial boards, she will update, edit, and enhance online curricular content in Aqueduct, the teaching and learning platform.
Xan came to Aquifer with a background in Biochemistry, Accounting, Library and Information Science, and Data Analytics. She is currently pursuing a micro degree in Data Analytics from Udacity. She holds an MA in Library and Information Studies from SUNY Buffalo, an AAS in Accounting from SUNY Canton and a BA in Biochemistry from SUNY Potsdam.
She currently lives in Northern, New York, and is a writer and painter.
