Call for Participation: Aquifer Student Advisory Group

Call for Participation: Aquifer Student Advisory Group

Join us and help shape Aquifer’s learning tools!

Aquifer wants to hear about your experience with our clinical learning tools and seeks critical feedback on how Aquifer can support your clinical learning. Your insights are valuable as we continue to develop and improve our platform and tools to support clinical reasoning.

If interested, please take a few minutes to complete the application below. Applications close on August 10th, and students will be notified of their status around August 17th.

If selected to participate, Aquifer staff will reach out via your institutional email, and you will be invited to attend three (3) one-hour sessions with members of our Consortium of health professions educators and Aquifer staff.

Benefits

This is a unique opportunity for students to join a national working group of health professions students tasked with providing critical feedback on Aquifer's virtual learning tools.

Upon fulfilling all requirements, a letter of recognition will be provided at the end of the working group.

Commitment

There will be three sessions over the next six months. Please check your schedule at the time of application, as participation in all three sessions is required for your letter of recognition.

  • Attend three (3) one-hour Zoom sessions (September, November, February) for deep discussions and brainstorming around virtual tools in health professions education and Aquifer’s learning platform. Meetings will be scheduled on weekday evenings. Tentative session dates are listed below:

    • Session 1: Thursday, September 10, 2026, 7 PM, EDT
    • Session 2: Monday, November 12, 2026, 7 PM, EST
    • Session 3: Wednesday, February 10, 2027, 7 PM, EST
  • Complete up to 1 hour of pre-work before each meeting.

    • Preview a new learning tool or feature via interactive demo, watch a screencast, or read/view background information or presentations.
    • Complete a preliminary survey with your initial feedback.
  • Post-work may be required as a follow-up to a meeting to drive our iterative design process. Post-work will be no more than 30 minutes and follow the same format as pre-work.

Eligibility

We are accepting applications from students who have completed Aquifer cases as part of their coursework and meet the following requirements:

  • Currently a clinical medical student.
  • Able to commit to completing all pre-work assignments and attending three (3) required sessions.
  • Interest in medical/health professions education and online learning.
  • Interest in AI as a learning tool is beneficial.
  • Prepared to give honest, thoughtful feedback constructively.

Please contact Megan Hotaling, Aquifer Manager, Consortium Operations & National Partnerships, with any questions.
