These empty case slots allow students to populate their assignments with Aquifer Cases and Scripts tailored to their individual learning needs. Simply determine how many Student-Choice Cases you want in your course, and the Course Builder will automatically add 30 minutes per case to the estimated time required to complete the course—allowing you and your students to plan accordingly.

Student-Choice Cases appear on the Course Page for educators and students, on Course Reports, and on student To-Do Lists. Student can add them directly into the course as they plan, or add a Case or Script when they complete it.

Student-Choice Cases allow students to engage in self-directed learning as part of your course. Students can identify their own learning needs based on their clinical experiences, Aquifer Calibrate assessments, or Aquifer PracticeSmart self-assessment questions.
Notes:
When students add content to the course as Student-Choice Cases, the estimated time for completion does not increase, as 30 minutes has already been added to the total time per Student-Choice Case. Actual time will vary, depending on students’ case selections.
Also, students cannot add cases or scripts completed before your course start date. If they choose, they can reset a case or script and then add it to the course. Reset cases or scripts display a black outline around the case completion status on all course reports.
